A facility utilizing a traditional Edo-period townhouse that introduces the history and life of Tondabayashi temple town. Inside the hall, you can closely observe the unique layouts and architectural styles of townhouses, and learn in an easy-to-understand way how the temple town was formed and has been preserved to this day. This is a perfect place to experience the lifestyle of old times together with children - an ideal starting point for exploring the temple town.

Tips

Just a few minutes' walk from Kōshōji Betsu-in. Admission is often free, but it's reassuring to confirm opening hours in advance. The building is old, so be careful of level changes.

Best time to visit

Approximately 45 minutes. Visiting in the quiet afternoon hours is recommended.
