A shrine connected to Shiraishi Castle's lord Katakura family, also known for enshrining Manohime, who is said to be the wife of Katakura Koujuuro. The precincts surrounded by trees maintain tranquility despite being in an urban area, making it a fitting place to calm your mind between castle town walks. A historic shrine with long faith from local people, visiting before the summer festival is a fitting detour for this course.
Tips
Within walking distance from Hekisui-en. The precincts are located in a quiet residential neighborhood, so be mindful of surroundings when worshipping. Summer has plenty of tree shade, making it relatively cool.
Best time to visit
Allow about 40 minutes. As evening approaches, the tree shade becomes cooler and more pleasant.
