Bon Dance Weaving Together Graceful "Local Dance" and Lively "Choreographed Dance"
About this spot
Sometimes counted among Japan's three major Bon dances, this dance festival represents Takahashi City's summer. Two dance styles alternate all night: the graceful "local dance" performed to shamisen and flute, and the lively "choreographed dance" in quick tempo, each with distinct character. Along the boulevard before JR Bicchu-Takahashi Station, the elegant dance circles under lantern light create an atmosphere uniquely refined compared to other Bon dances.
