National Scenic Spot with Beautiful White Sand and Pine Forest Coastline
About this spot
A beautiful coastal area designated as a National Scenic Spot, stretching approximately 1.5 km with white sand and pine forests. The pine forest, planted since the Edo period to protect against wind and tide damage, is still carefully preserved today, and the contrast between the sandy beach and greenery is a pleasure to the eye. The calm and shallow sea is crowded with swimmers in summer and is also popular for walks throughout the year. Simply walking while feeling the sea breeze allows you to experience the openness unique to a seaside town.

徳島県最南端、海陽町宍喰地区に鎮座する宍喰八幡神社で、地域に古くから受け継がれてきた秋祭りです。2026年は9月26日・27日の2日間開催され、初日の宵宮には境内に屋台が並び、地元の人々や旅行者で賑わいます。太平洋を望む海辺の集落らしく、潮の香りと祭り囃子が入り混じる境内の雰囲気は、都市部の大規模な祭りとはまた違った温かみがあります。地域の結びつきを感じられる、家族で参加しやすい祭りです。
Tips
境内や参道は夜間暗くなる箇所があるため、懐中電灯があると安心です。屋台の営業時間や内容は年によって変わることがあるため、当日の様子を見ながら楽しみましょう。荒天時の開催可否は事前に確認を。

The walk from the parking lot to the sandy beach is somewhat long. Even at the end of summer, the sun is strong, so don't forget a hat and sunscreen. If you plan to play in the water, bring a change of clothes.
