One of Japan's oldest hot spring areas, said to have 3,000 years of history, with its three-story wooden main hall designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. The surrounding Haikara Street features souvenir shops and cafes, with free foot baths scattered throughout, allowing you to easily rest your feet between walks. Known as the setting for Natsume Soseki's novel, a simple stroll through the retro atmosphere lets you experience the unique charm of a thermal resort town.

松山発祥の座敷遊び「野球拳」を踊りにアレンジしたユニークな祭りで、8月7日から9日までの3日間、大街道・千舟町・城山公園(堀之内地区)一帯を会場に開催されます。連ごとに趣向を凝らした衣装と振り付けで踊り手たちが商店街を練り歩き、沿道の観客も一緒になって手拍子で盛り上がります。城山公園会場にはキッチンカーが出店し、食事を楽しみながら祭りを見物できるのもこのイベントの魅力。松山城の天守を望む立地で行われる祭りは、昼間に登った城が夜には祭りの灯りに照らされる姿も楽しめます。

会場周辺は当日交通規制がかかることがあります。キッチンカーの営業時間や出店内容は日によって変わることがあるため、当日の案内を確認しましょう。夜間の移動は路面電車の運行状況もあわせて確認を。

It's convenient to travel from Matsuyama Castle by tram (street car). If you'd like to enjoy bathing at the main hall, check operating hours and crowding in advance. Multiple spots offer free foot baths.
