An archives facility housed in the former Nagoya High Court, District Court, and Summary Court building constructed during the Taisho era. You can tour the Western-style architecture free of charge, witnessing the central spiral staircase, guest rooms, and other features that retain the original character of the era. Located near Nagoya Castle, it is an ideal stop as part of your historical tour of the castle district. The brick exterior is highly photogenic and makes for a great souvenir photo for family outings.

名古屋のシンボルである名古屋城で毎年夏に開かれる名古屋城夏まつりは、2026年は8月8日(土)から16日(日)までの開催で、その初日を訪れます。会場内には飲食エリア「鯱食堂」が設けられ、夕食をとりながら夜の城内で過ごすことができます。日が落ちると天守閣がライトアップされ、金の鯱が夜空に浮かび上がる幻想的な景色が広がります。昼に巡った洋館や神社、庭園とはまた違う、夜の名古屋城ならではの表情を家族で楽しみましょう。

Tips

飲食エリアは夕方以降混み合うことがあるため、早めの時間に席や商品を確保するのがおすすめです。夜は城内の足元が暗くなる場所もあるため、歩きやすい靴と足元への注意が必要です。周辺の駐車場は満車になりやすいため、公共交通機関の利用が安心です。

Tips

Admission is free and most interior areas permit photography, though some areas have restrictions. Check signage for guidance. The air-conditioning inside makes it a comfortable retreat from summer heat. Viewing the former courtroom and other exhibits takes time, so plan accordingly with extra time on your schedule.
