The area around Ryōtsu Port, Sado Island's gateway. As the port where ferries from mainland Niigata arrive and depart, restaurants and souvenir shops gather here, making it an ideal place to have an early dinner before the festival begins. As evening approaches, more people walk beneath the Tanabata decorations, and a festive atmosphere begins to emerge.

佐渡島の玄関口である両津地区で開かれる両津七夕・川開きは、2026年8月8日(土)の開催です。両津港周辺の通りには色とりどりの七夕飾りが飾られ、夜になると港の夜空に花火が打ち上がります。フェリーが行き交う港町ならではの開放的な雰囲気の中、地元の人々や観光客が一緒になって夏の夜を楽しむ、佐渡らしいあたたかい祭りです。日中に加茂湖やトキの森公園で触れた島の自然の余韻を残しながら、夜は港を彩る花火と七夕飾りを家族で満喫しましょう。

Tips

会場周辺は交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関や徒歩でのアクセスがおすすめです。港沿いは夜風が強く感じられることがあるため、羽織るものがあると安心です。フェリーの発着時間と重なる場合があるため、周辺の混雑にも注意しましょう。

Tips

The area becomes crowded from evening onwards on festival day, so early arrival is recommended. Strong winds sometimes occur around the port, so be careful with decorations and baggage. If you want to secure a good spot for fireworks viewing, finish dinner early and move to the venue.
