The 2026 Tokamachi Oomatsuri runs for three days from August 25-27, centered around Honmachi Street and its surroundings in Tokamachi city. This major event is eagerly anticipated by residents of Tokamachi, known as one of Japan's most heavily snow-covered regions, as the highlight of summer. The street lights up and fills with families and locals. The 25th, opening day, marks the beginning of the three-day festival.
