Along the Meguro River in Shinagawa Ward, a promenade lined with cherry trees runs from Gotanda to Osaki. Walking while feeling the flow of the river and the greenery of the trees makes for a moment that lets you forget you're in the middle of an office district. From Shinagawa Aquarium, take the train back toward Gotanda, then follow the riverside to Osaki. Take a breather by the water between stretches of walking as you head toward Osaki, where the Bon Odori venue awaits.
Tips
The promenade is paved and easy to walk, but some sections offer little shade, so take sun precautions. Benches are also scattered along the way, so you can rest as you walk.
Best time to visit
About 40 minutes. Afternoon hours, when the river breeze feels pleasant, are recommended
