A major autumn festival held throughout the castle town area of Daisho-ji, seat of the Daisho-ji clan, a branch of the Kaga clan that governed one hundred thousand koku. In 2026, the festival is held over two days, September 12-13, with this course focusing on the opening day. Processions and diverse events organized by local residents bring color to the streets, conveying the pride of this Edo-period castle town to the present day. As you walk, the memories of the castle ruins, temples, and museums you visited during the day blend with the history of Daisho-ji, making the past feel close at hand. Best time to visit

Most atmospheric from 6 p.m. onward, after the sun sets and lanterns are lit, starting from the 5 p.m. opening.
