Next stop: Port Town Scenery Known as the Birthplace of Set-Net FishingAbout this spot
An ancient shrine standing at the tip of Noto Peninsula that has long protected the sea's safety and abundant catches for those engaged in fishing. Surrounded by a deeply forested sacred grove, the shrine grounds are filled with silence, and walking along the approach naturally fills you with a sense of solemnity. Before attending the evening festival in the port town of Ogi, this becomes a meaningful detour to experience the faith of those whose lives are intertwined with the sea.
Tips
The path to the shrine grounds includes mountain trails, so allow ample time. Walking shoes are recommended for the visit.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. The pleasant dappled sunlight in the afternoon is recommended.
