Next stop: An Autumn Port Town Festival with Illuminated Kiriko Lanterns Parading Through the StreetsAbout this spot
One of Japan's historic fishing harbors believed to be the birthplace of set-net fishing. The scene of fishing boats lined up in the calm inlet is filled with the quaint atmosphere characteristic of Noto port towns. As evening falls, boats return from fishing, and a sense of day's end drifts through the entire harbor. With the Ogi Sodekiriko Matsuri held on this port, you may even sense festival preparations during the daytime.
Tips
The harbor area is a living community, so be mindful not to interfere with fishing operations. The wind from the harbor can feel somewhat chilly in the evening.
Best time to visit
Approximately 40 minutes. The energetic atmosphere of the port can be felt when fishing boats return in the evening.
