Awara Onsen's unique summer festival where people splash hot spring water on each other in yukata
About this spot
Held on August 8-9 at Yunomachi Square in front of Awara Yunomachi Station, this is one of the premier summer festivals of the Hokuriku region's hot spring towns. Participants dressed in yukata splash steaming hot spring water on each other using buckets and ladles, creating a unique festive atmosphere unlike other festivals. With the distinctive steaming scenery of the hot spring town and the addition of drums and music, the entire venue unites in celebration. Families with children can also participate safely by wearing clothes suitable for getting wet.
