The tatami rooms and spacious halls, built with abundant Akita cedar using the finest architectural techniques, are well worth seeing and tell the story of Noshiro's prosperity through the timber industry. Now open to the public, this is a valuable facility where you can feel the prosperity of Noshiro as a commercial hub up close.

Tips

The interior is tatami-floored, so you'll remove your shoes before viewing. Check viewing hours and open dates in advance. Keep the atmosphere quiet and respectful during your tour.
