A historic restaurant building representing Noshiro, which once flourished as a timber capital, and is designated as a nationally registered tangible cultural property. The tatami rooms and spacious halls, built with abundant Akita cedar using the finest architectural techniques, are well worth seeing and tell the story of Noshiro's prosperity through the timber industry. Now open to the public, this is a valuable facility where you can feel the prosperity of Noshiro as a commercial hub up close.

能代市街地から米代川河口付近を舞台に、2026年8月6日(木)・7日(金)の2日間、15時40分から22時15分まで開かれる伝統行事です。武者絵などが描かれた巨大な灯籠人形「役七夕」が街を練り歩いたのち、最後は米代川河口へと運ばれます。夜が更けるにつれて、無病息災を願って川面に灯籠を流す「ねぶながし」が行われ、暗い川面に浮かぶ灯りの列が幻想的な光景をつくり出します。日中に松原や科学館、歴史的建築をめぐって能代の街を知った1日の締めくくりに、この地に伝わる夏の伝統行事をじっくり味わいましょう。
Tips
河口付近は夜になると足元が見えにくくなるため、懐中電灯があると安心です。会場周辺は交通規制がかかることがあるため、公共交通機関の利用も検討しましょう。虫よけがあると夜の観覧が快適です。
Tips
The interior is tatami-floored, so you'll remove your shoes before viewing. Check viewing hours and open dates in advance. Keep the atmosphere quiet and respectful during your tour.
