Early Dinner at the Station-Front Shopping Street Before the Pedestrian Zone
About this spot
The shopping streets around Gotemba Station feature local restaurants, soba shops, and restaurants serving Mt. Fuji-themed menus. Close to the former prefectural road 246 area where the pedestrian zone begins, making it convenient to head directly to the festival venue after dining. In the evening, festival staff in happi jackets and families in yukata begin to appear, creating a festive pre-festival atmosphere.

2026年は8月1日から2日まで開催される、御殿場市中心部の県道旧246号線付近が歩行者天国となる夏祭りです。通りには露店が立ち並び、盆踊りやステージイベントなど地域色豊かな催しが繰り広げられます。標高が高く夜になると涼しい風が吹く御殿場ならではの、のんびりとした雰囲気の中で夏の夜を楽しめる祭りです。
Tips
歩行者天国のエリアは開始前から人出が増えてきます。ベビーカーでも歩きやすい通りですが、混雑時は周囲に気をつけましょう。駐車場は早い時間に埋まりやすいので公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。
Tips
On festival day, roads around the area become pedestrian zones after 5 PM and are closed to traffic. Plan to finish dinner by 4 PM for smooth movement to the festival area.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 45 minutes. Early evening around 4 PM is when seating is more readily available before the dinner rush.
