The main festival venue where teams nationwide dance with naruko clappers
About this spot
Yosakoι Festival 2026 runs August 9-12 (4 days) at the Otesuji Main Competitive Venue and various performance venues throughout Kochi city. On opening day, nearly 200 teams from across Japan take the stage, clappers in hand, dancing to the traditional Yosakoι melody. Costumes, choreography, and yama-jikka (float) decorations showcase each team's individuality—from traditional Japanese dress to contemporary performance styles. The Otesuji Main Venue, one of the largest, hosts the judging headquarters and stands as the festival's epicenter. Under the summer night breeze, immersed in naruko's crisp rhythm and jubilant cheers, you'll experience something uniquely magical—an encounter only these four days can offer.
