This summer festival has long been cherished by residents of the Kitago district of Misato Town and is held every year at Smile Plaza next to the Kitago Branch Office of Misato Town Hall. In 2026, it begins at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 1, followed by the “15th Eisa Koryusai Misato” featuring Eisa dance teams from around the prefecture and mainland Okinawa starting at 5:30 PM, with special fireworks planned from 9:00 PM. Set in a quiet mountain village surrounded by deep mountains, the lights and voices of this community-rooted festival feel all the warmer, and its friendly atmosphere makes it easy even for first-time visiting families to join in. Tips

Since the venue is in the mountains, arriving by car is convenient, but parking space may be limited. There tend to be more insects at night, so bug spray will help keep you comfortable. Some roads have few streetlights, so bringing a flashlight is a good idea.

Best time to visit

From the 4:00 PM start. Things get especially lively after 5:30 PM, when the Eisa Koryusai Misato begins.
