About this spot

This beach spreads along the coast of Takanabe Town, just south of Tsuno Town, and is also affectionately known locally as Kaguchihama (蚊口浜). Located near the mouth of the Komaru River, it is a popular beach among families with young children thanks to its relatively calm waves. In summer, many visitors come to swim, and the contrast between the white sand and blue sea creates a quintessentially Miyazaki summer scene. It's a perfect spot to catch a sea breeze and take a break before heading to the summer festival at Tsuno Shrine.

Tips

Travel by car from Michi-no-Eki Tsuno is convenient. There is little shade, so bring a hat and sunscreen. If you plan to swim, check the day's safety information, including the designated swimming area and lifeguard coverage.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. The afternoon, once the sun softens, is a comfortable time to visit.
