About this spot

This experience facility keeps alive the traditional method of making Noda salt, long passed down in Noda Village, letting visitors watch and try the age-old process of boiling down seawater to make salt. It's a place to encounter the wisdom of a community that has lived alongside the Sanriku sea, and you can even take home the salt you make as a souvenir. It's one of the experiences most distinctive to Noda Village, offering a real sense of the sea's bounty.

Tips

Just under 10 minutes by car from Tofugaura Coast. Experience programs sometimes run at set times, so it's a good idea to check in advance.

Best time to visit

About 45 minutes. Visiting in time for the afternoon experience program makes for a smooth visit.
