A summer festival held every year in the Nango area of Misato Town, where the legend of the Baekje royal family lives on, gathering local people at the Nango Chayashita Parking Lot and other venues. Surrounded by legend-linked historic sites such as Nishi no Shosoin, Kudara-no-Yakata, and Mikado Shrine, the festival has a quiet, warm charm unique to this mountain town. Run mainly by local groups, it has a friendly atmosphere that makes it easy for first-time visiting families to join in. As the venue is in the mountains, a car is convenient, though parking space may be limited. Insect repellent is a good idea for the evening. In case of severe weather, the event may be canceled or rescheduled, so it's a good idea to check the day-of announcements.

Best time to visit

From the 5pm start. After 6pm, when the sun sets and the lanterns light up, is an especially charming time
