A hilltop park developed from the site of Akadachi (赤館), a fortress that existed before Tanagura Castle was built. With a different historical significance than Tanagura Castle Ruins (Kamegajiro Park), representing an even older era, you can sense traces of the past amid quiet woods. From the elevated viewpoint, you can overlook the town of Tanagura, making it a popular spot to take a break during your walk. You can enjoy a subtle connoisseur's approach, viewing Tanagura's castle-town history layered across two different castle ruins.

棚倉駅前交差点から古町松本酒店前まで続く大通りを会場に、2026年8月14日(金)に開かれる地域の夏祭りです。この日は大通りが歩行者天国になり、露店や催しでにぎわう中を、車を気にせずゆったり歩いて楽しめます。城下町として栄えた棚倉らしく、駅前の落ち着いた通りが夏祭りの日だけ特別な雰囲気に彩られるのがこの祭りの魅力です。日中に神社や城跡をめぐった1日の締めくくりに、地域あげての夏祭りを味わいましょう。

歩行者天国のため会場周辺は車両通行止めになります。公共交通機関か周辺の駐車場を利用しましょう。夜は虫よけがあると快適に過ごせます。荒天時の実施可否は事前に確認を。

Some distance from Kamegajiro Park, so car transportation is convenient. As it's located on a hilltop with uphill sections and stairs, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes required. As evening approaches, the sunlight softens and the views are more enjoyable.
