Nagaoka Tenmangu Shrine (長岡天満宮) is a venerable shrine connected to Sugawara no Michizane. A vermilion arched bridge spans Hachijogaike Pond (八条ヶ池) within the grounds, offering beautiful scenery through all four seasons. The approach is flat and easy to walk, so even families with small children can visit comfortably. Benches are dotted around the pond, making it a good place to sit down for a short rest. It is at just the right distance to stop by before heading to Nishiyama Park.

西山公園のジャブジャブ池は、京都府長岡京市の緑豊かな公園内にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は4月26日(日)から9月6日(日)まで営業し、完全予約制で9時30分から17時10分までの間に4つの時間帯が設けられています(月・金曜定休)。浅く整備された水辺は小さな子どもでも安心して遊べる造りで、周囲を木々が囲んでいるため木陰も多く、夏の暑い日でも過ごしやすい環境です。近所でのんびり過ごしたい家族連れにとって、気軽に立ち寄れる貴重な水遊びスポットです。

Tips

完全予約制のため、訪問前に公式サイトで希望の時間帯の空き状況を確認し、事前予約を済ませておきましょう。月曜と金曜は定休日にあたるため注意が必要です。着替えの場所やタオルは各自で準備し、日差しが強い日は日陰を活用して休憩を取り入れるのがおすすめです。

Tips

It is accessible on foot from Hankyu Nishiyama-Tenozan Station or Nagaoka-tenjin Station. Early in the morning there are few worshippers, so you can stroll along the pond in a quiet atmosphere. There is also a shop within the grounds, handy for stocking up on drinks.
