Kozuyabashi Bridge is a wooden bridge over the Kizu River, affectionately known as the Floating Bridge, famous for its distinctive structure in which the deck washes away when the water rises. Walking across the simple, railing-free bridge, you feel the wind off the water and the peaceful rural scenery right beside you. Its evocative setting is also known as a period-drama filming location and is popular for photographs. It is an easy stop on the way to the municipal pool.
Tips
The bridge has no railings, so take care and hold hands when walking with small children. After heavy rain the bridge may have washed out and be closed, so checking the latest conditions before you visit is reassuring.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. A morning stroll before the sun gets strong is recommended
