A cultural complex in Joyo City that houses a planetarium, the Museum of History and Folklore and a library in a single building. The Museum of History and Folklore displays farming tools, household implements and excavated artefacts used in this area, showing that Joyo has been lived in since ancient times. Being indoors, it is also a cool way to pass the hours when the sun is strongest, an essential ingredient in any summer plan. Tips

Check the planetarium's screening times, programme and admission fee in the official information in advance. It is dark and quiet during the screening, so an aisle seat lets you step out midway with a small child. The Museum of History and Folklore changes its exhibitions, so if there is something you want to see, look up what is on. It is within walking distance of Terada Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line.
