Enjoy dreamlike scenery and water play in the shallows around Kameiwa Cave

About this spot

This is a signature river-play spot of the Boso Peninsula, known for Nomizo Falls and Kameiwa Cave (in 2026 a partial closure due to falling-rock and landslide risk was lifted on July 2, but the latest information should be checked). The scenery of light streaming from the cave and reflecting on the water has become a talking point on social media, and it is popular as a photogenic spot. In the shallows nearby, even small children can touch the water safely alongside a guardian. Wrapped in deep green nature, it makes for a stretch of time where you can enjoy both the dreamlike scenery and water play.

Tips

Check the latest situation regarding falling rocks and path closures on the Kimitsu City official website before you visit. The area around the photo spot can get crowded, so early morning and evening tend to be calmer. The riverbed has many slippery rocks, so shoes you do not mind getting wet are reassuring.

Best time to visit

Around 13:00 to 15:00, when the sun is strong, is the most pleasant time to be in the water
