This is a rare stretch of countryside within Chiba City where the valley-floor paddy landscape known as yatsuda has been preserved. Boardwalks and walking paths are maintained, so you can walk unhurriedly while taking in the paddies and the waterside of small streams. It is a place to spend time in lush nature with a little exercise after the zoo. Meeting the creatures and plants of each season is another attraction.
Tips
Strolling is free. Some footing is damp, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. There are no shops, so bringing drinks with you is reassuring.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. Just the right length for a change of pace after touring the zoo
