A specialized maglev train viewing facility located right beside the Yamanashi Maglev Experimental Line. In the Exciting Maglev Hall, actual vehicles used in real-world test runs are on display, allowing you to see up close the large vehicle body and interior. A mini-maglev boarding experience—where trains levitate and run using magnetic forces—and an experimental corner showcasing the wonders of superconductivity are always crowd-pleasers with children. On days when test runs are scheduled, you can watch the real maglev streaking across the experimental line at 500 km/h, and the split-second passage draws audible gasps even from adults.
Tips
Test runs don't happen daily, so it's best to confirm the test schedule in advance before planning your visit. The facility has elevators and welcomes strollers; parking is free. Some mini-maglev rides and demonstration shows have set times, so check the schedule when you enter.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Early morning right after opening is less crowded and experience queues are shorter.
