An ancient temple known as the head temple of the Ji sect, striking for its great main gate and wide precincts. There are many highlights such as the long stone steps and the great ginkgo tree, and locals fondly call it Yugyo-ji. The precincts are quiet and composed, and paying your respects before heading off for water play makes a fine occasion to wish for a safe day.
Tips
It can be reached on foot or by local bus from Fujisawa Station. There are stone steps in the precincts, so with a stroller it is reassuring to check the detour route in advance. There is plenty of shade, so it is relatively suited to a summer visit as well.
Best time to visit
About 50 minutes. The morning is relatively calm for paying your respects
