About this spot
This riverside park stretches along the Kiso River in Yomikaki, Nagiso, and is open year-round. Beside the park stands Momosuke Bridge, a wooden suspension bridge built in the Taisho era and designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan — a valuable piece of civil engineering heritage. Its greatest appeal is being able to play in the shallows on the Kiso River's riverbank while viewing this historic bridge up close. Surrounded by the clear water and mountain greenery unique to the Kiso Road, families can spend a relaxed time together.
Season & hours
Name: 桃介橋河川公園
Date & time: 常時開放
Venue: 木曽郡南木曽町読書・木曽川
Tips
Since the water flows down from upstream, it feels cold even in midsummer, so it's reassuring to bring something to wrap up in. The riverbed has many rocks and can be slippery, so water shoes make it safer. Playing during sunny hours is more comfortable.
Best time to visit
Around 1 p.m. onward, when the sun is out, is recommended — it makes the cold water easier to enjoy.
