About this spot

Tokaikan is a three-story wooden building constructed in 1928 as a hot-spring inn, and today it is open to the public as a sightseeing facility of Ito City. With its karahafu (唐破風) cusped-gable entrance, elaborately designed ranma (欄間) transoms and inventively crafted bathrooms, it is a valuable building that conveys the essence of early Showa hot-spring inn architecture to this day. You can tour the interior freely, and walking through the guest rooms and corridors that retain traces of the era feels like slipping back in time. It is an atmospheric stop before sea bathing that lets you touch the history of Ito Onsen.

伊東市宇佐美にある宇佐美海水浴場は、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月23日(日)まで開設される、遠浅で波の穏やかな海水浴場です。伊東市街から少し離れた落ち着いた立地で、地元の家族連れにも親しまれています。午前の建築見学と道の駅での食事を終えたら、いよいよこの海がクライマックス。波打ち際の水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、夕方まで思いきり夏を満喫しましょう。

Tips

設備の詳細は事前に伊東市の公式情報で確認するのがおすすめです。夏の砂浜は熱くなるので、ビーチサンダルは必携です。帰り支度の時間も見込んで、余裕を持って切り上げましょう。
