Visit a shrine overlooking Suruga Bay and Ushitsuki-iwa from a rise

Kumomi Sengen Shrine is enshrined halfway up Mt. Eboshi (烏帽子山), overlooking the village of Kumomi. From the precincts you can take in a sweeping view of the blue waters of Suruga Bay and the distinctive twin rocks called Ushitsuki-iwa floating offshore, and it is known as one of West Izu's finest viewpoints. The scenery that opens up after climbing a short flight of stone steps is a superb location where you can look all around the coastline, including Kumomi Beach where you are about to swim. On clear days Mt. Fuji (富士山) can also be seen.

Venue: 松崎町雲見・雲見海岸

松崎町雲見にある雲見海水浴場は、2026年は7月25日(土)から8月16日(日)まで開設され(7月18日から20日にも先行開設)、遊泳時間は9時から16時までです。駿河湾に面した入り江に抱かれた砂浜は波が穏やかで、沖には雲見のシンボルである牛着岩を望むことができます。西伊豆ならではの美しい海岸美を眺めながら、波打ち際の水遊びから砂遊びまで営業終了の16時までのびのびと過ごせます。夕陽の名所としても知られるエリアなので、時間が許せば夕方の空の色の変化も楽しみのひとつです。

Tips

設備の詳細は事前に松崎町の公式情報で確認するのがおすすめです。遊泳時間は16時までのため、着替えの時間も見込んで余裕を持って切り上げましょう。夏の砂浜は熱くなるので、ビーチサンダルは必携です。

Tips

It is just a short walk or drive from Kumomi Beach. The approach has steps, so visit in easy-to-walk shoes. There is little shade from the sun, so do not forget a hat and drinks.
