About this spot

An old shrine standing at the foot of Konosuyama hill in Terada, Joyo City, with a pedigree recorded even in the Engishiki. The approach is long, and as you walk the path flanked by trees the sounds of the town gradually fade away. The main hall is said to date from the Muromachi period, and you can look closely at the fine detail of its ornamentation. The grounds have plenty of shade from the trees, so even on a summer morning the walk stays cool, which is a real blessing. It sits on the same chain of hills as Konosuyama, where LOGOS LAND is, making it just the right place to start the day.

Tips

It is within walking distance of Terada Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line. The approach is gravel and packed earth, so wear comfortable walking shoes. There is no shop on the grounds, so buy drinks and a bento beforehand. Agreeing in advance to stay quiet while praying makes for a calm visit.
