Kita Park Jabujabu Pond (北公園 ジャブジャブ池)
About this spot
Kita Park Jabujabu Pond is a free water play area for young children inside Kita Park in Takatsubaru, Kashima City. According to the 2026 listing on Saga Prefecture's official tourism site Asobo Saga (あそぼーさが), the season runs from Wednesday 1 July to Monday 31 August, with hours of 9:00 to 17:00. At 550 square metres it is spacious, and because the maximum depth of 40 cm can be adjusted across three levels, siblings of different ages can each play at a depth that suits them. The filtration and sterilisation systems are also reassuring when letting small children play. The management building has changing rooms and shower rooms (one each for men and women), coin lockers (24 each for men and women), a lounge and an outdoor terrace, so changing and looking after your belongings are all handled within the park. When you tire of the water you can move to the 5,500-square-metre lawn or the combination play structure Ikoi no Mori (憩いの森), so you can spend the whole day with breaks along the way.

Tips
Kashima City's official guide states that opening days must be confirmed with the Kita Park management office, so be sure to check before you go. The hot shower costs 100 yen per use, so having small change ready makes getting ready to leave smoother. Coin lockers are limited to 24 each for men and women, so on busy days keeping just your valuables together makes them easier to use. Closing is at 17:00, so get out of the water by 16:45 to secure time for showering and changing.
Best time to visit
Going in after 2 p.m. lines up with the hours when the sunlight softens, so you can play until closing with breaks in between
