Onoe Shrine (尾上神社) is a shrine in Onoe-cho, Kakogawa City, long known for the Onoe no Matsu pine in its precincts. Celebrated in the Noh chant Takasago, it has been a famous pine site cherished by the people of Harima for centuries. An old bell has also been handed down here, and simply walking around while reading the information boards on its history conveys the depth of this area's stories. The deep shade beneath the pine grove makes it easy to walk even on a strongly sunlit afternoon. The water-play spot is only a few minutes away by car, making this the perfect last pause before getting into the water.

Tips

Visiting is free. The precincts are a place to spend quietly, so agree with your children not to run. Vending machines are limited, so prepare drinks beforehand. Changing into swimsuits here is difficult, so it is best to do that at Nikke Park Town (ニッケパークタウン).
