The Gohyaku Rakan (五百羅漢) in Hojo-cho, Kasai City, is a landmark representing this area, where simple stone Buddhas stand in long rows. Because every one of them has a different face, the saying has been handed down that if you want to see your parent's face, go to the Gohyaku Rakan of Hojo. The fact that it is still unclear who made them, when, and for what purpose deepens the mystery of the place. Walking with your children while saying let us find a face that looks like Dad naturally creates a quiet stretch of time spent gazing at the statues. Maruyama General Park (丸山総合公園) is a short drive away, making this just the right first stop of the morning.

丸山総合公園噴水デッキは、加西市の丸山総合公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は7月11日(土)から9月27日(日)まで、8:30から17:30まで。例年は土日祝のみの稼働で、夏休みの期間は雨天のときを除いて毎日稼働します。デッキから放たれる水を浴びて遊ぶつくりなので、泳ぐのではなく、水しぶきの中を走り抜けたり、当たる感触を楽しんだりという遊び方になります。管理棟とトイレ、そして無料の駐車場が用意されているため、車で出かける家族連れにはとても使いやすい公園です。朝8:30から夕方17:30までと開いている時間が長いので、午前を別の場所に使っても余裕をもって遊べます。

Tips

料金は無料です。稼働する日は時期によって変わるため、出発前に公園の最新の案内を確かめてください。着替えの場所は限られるので、水着は服の下に着ていき、帰りはタオルで拭いて着替えるつもりで準備しておくと困りません。ぬれた服を入れるビニール袋を人数分持っていくと帰りが快適です。日ざしの強い時間帯は木陰で休憩をはさみ、こまめに水分をとらせましょう。

Tips

An admission fee is required (check the on-site information for the amount). The footing is gravel and dirt paths, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Agreeing with your children before the visit not to touch the stone Buddhas will put your mind at ease. There is no shop, so prepare drinks before you set out.
