The Hojo Railway is a local line of a little over 13 kilometers connecting Hojomachi Station (北条町駅) in Kasai City with Ao Station on the JR Kakogawa Line. The sight of a single-car train running at an easy pace is emblematic of Kasai, and at the terminus, Hojomachi Station, you can watch arrivals and departures up close. There are restaurants and commercial facilities around the station, so it is convenient to take care of lunch and afternoon shopping in an air-conditioned place. For a child who loves trains, this may stay in the memory just as much as the water play. Maruyama General Park (丸山総合公園) is a short drive away.

丸山総合公園噴水デッキは、加西市の丸山総合公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は7月11日(土)から9月27日(日)まで、8:30から17:30まで。例年は土日祝のみの稼働で、夏休みの期間は雨天のときを除いて毎日稼働します。デッキから放たれる水を浴びて遊ぶつくりなので、泳ぐのではなく、水しぶきの中を走り抜けたり、当たる感触を楽しんだりという遊び方になります。管理棟とトイレ、そして無料の駐車場が用意されているため、車で出かける家族連れにはとても使いやすい公園です。朝8:30から夕方17:30までと開いている時間が長いので、午前を別の場所に使っても余裕をもって遊べます。

Tips

料金は無料です。稼働する日は時期によって変わるため、出発前に公園の最新の案内を確かめてください。着替えの場所は限られるので、水着は服の下に着ていき、帰りはタオルで拭いて着替えるつもりで準備しておくと困りません。ぬれた服を入れるビニール袋を人数分持っていくと帰りが快適です。日ざしの強い時間帯は木陰で休憩をはさみ、こまめに水分をとらせましょう。

Tips

Restaurants get crowded around noon on weekends, so shifting your timing a little makes it easier to get a seat. When approaching the platform or the tracks, always follow the station's instructions. Putting drinks in a cooler bag makes hydration in the afternoon much easier. Changing the children into their swimsuits in the restroom after the meal makes things go smoothly once you reach the park.
