Tamaoka Historic Site Park (玉丘史跡公園) is a historic park in Tamaoka-cho, Kasai City, developed around burial mounds. The largest one in the park, Tamaoka Kofun, is a keyhole-shaped tomb that remains today as a large hill covered in grass. A walking path runs around it, and the appeal of this place is being able to feel its size with your own body as you walk the full circle. The experience of seeing an actual keyhole-shaped tomb, the kind you see in textbooks, right in front of you stays with children. Maruyama General Park (丸山総合公園) is about 10 minutes away by car, just the right distance for a stop before the afternoon water play.

丸山総合公園噴水デッキは、加西市の丸山総合公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は7月11日(土)から9月27日(日)まで、8:30から17:30まで。例年は土日祝のみの稼働で、夏休みの期間は雨天のときを除いて毎日稼働します。デッキから放たれる水を浴びて遊ぶつくりなので、泳ぐのではなく、水しぶきの中を走り抜けたり、当たる感触を楽しんだりという遊び方になります。管理棟とトイレ、そして無料の駐車場が用意されているため、車で出かける家族連れにはとても使いやすい公園です。朝8:30から夕方17:30までと開いている時間が長いので、午前を別の場所に使っても余裕をもって遊べます。

Tips

料金は無料です。稼働する日は時期によって変わるため、出発前に公園の最新の案内を確かめてください。着替えの場所は限られるので、水着は服の下に着ていき、帰りはタオルで拭いて着替えるつもりで準備しておくと困りません。ぬれた服を入れるビニール袋を人数分持っていくと帰りが快適です。日ざしの強い時間帯は木陰で休憩をはさみ、こまめに水分をとらせましょう。

Tips

Entry is free. There is little to block the sun, so always carry a hat and drinks as you walk. Follow the on-site information about how far you may climb on the mounds. Since this falls in the hottest part of the day, wrapping up in about 30 minutes without pushing it and heading for the water play is just the right balance.
