A historic building that remains inside Nagayama Memorial Park (永山記念公園), where a Meiji-era residence and a Western-style building put up later are joined together. Tatami rooms and Western rooms stand side by side within a single building, and the way the changing eras took physical form is the highlight here. Looking out at the garden from the veranda, there is a stillness that makes you forget you are in the middle of the city. Because it is in the same park as the water play area you will visit in the afternoon, there is no travel burden at all, which is the advantage of how this day is put together. Take a peek with your children at the life of a figure who helped shape Sapporo in the pioneer era.

永山記念公園水遊び場は、札幌市中央区の永山記念公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は6月29日(月)から8月30日(日)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放されます。浅い水遊び場なので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも足をひたすところから遊べます。園内には歴史的な邸宅が残り、緑もあるため、大人は木陰で休みながらゆっくり見守れます。地下鉄の駅から歩ける立地で、街の中心からも近いため、思い立った日に出かけやすいのが中央区の水遊び場の良さです。買い出しや食事は歩いて行ける範囲でそろうので、荷物を減らして出かけられます。

Tips

水遊び場の運用は天候によって変わることがあるため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してください。足元を切らないよう、水遊び用サンダルを履かせておくと安心です。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると便利です。16:00に終了するので、15時半には片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。

Part of the interior requires taking off your shoes, so footwear that is easy to slip on and off is convenient. Agreeing in advance not to run and not to touch the exhibits makes for a calmer visit.
