Standing at the western edge of Odori Park, this stone building was once used as a courthouse. Built of stacked Sapporo soft stone, its solid exterior stands out even among the city's scenery, and hunting for the crest carved above the entrance is part of the fun. Inside you can see exhibits on Sapporo's history and a room that recreates the courtroom of the time. The areas open to visitors are free of charge, so it is easy to use as a first stop of the morning. Walking there through the greenery of Odori Park makes for a pleasant morning stroll in itself.

山鼻公園水遊び場は、札幌市中央区の山鼻公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は6月29日(月)から8月30日(日)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放されます。浅い水遊び場なので水深を心配せずに済み、歩き始めの子でも足をひたして遊べます。地元の子どもたちが集まる身近な公園なので、大がかりな施設にありがちな混雑や待ち時間とは無縁なのが良いところです。市電の停留場から歩ける立地で、街歩きの帰りにそのまま立ち寄れます。木陰のベンチで大人が見守りながら、子どもが好きなだけ水と遊べる時間をつくれます。

Tips

水遊び場の運用は天候によって変わることがあるため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してください。足元を切らないよう水遊び用サンダルを履かせましょう。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると安心です。16:00に終了するため、15時半には片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。住宅街の中の公園なので、大きな声を出しすぎないよう声をかけておきましょう。

Tips

Check the official information for opening hours and closing days. A streetcar stop is close by, so access from the Yamahana area is good. The building is a place for quiet viewing, so it helps to agree in advance not to run inside. Restrooms are available in the building.
