The Nisshin Park Water Play Area is a free water play area in Nisshin Park in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. In 2026 it is open from Monday, June 29 to Sunday, August 30, from 10:00 to 16:00. Because the water is shallow, even small children who are afraid of water can start by dipping their feet in and get used to it little by little. It is a neighborhood park where local children gather, with none of the lines or waiting times of a big facility. It is small enough for adults to watch over from a shaded bench, which makes it well suited to a first water play debut. Being in town, the trip home after playing is short, another welcome point for families.

Tips

Operation of the water play area can change with the weather, so check the day's conditions before you set out. Have children wear water sandals so they do not cut their feet. Changing space is limited, so a towel or poncho that can be worn over the shoulders is handy. It is a park inside a residential area, so remind everyone to stay quiet in the surroundings. It closes at 16:00, so starting to pack up at 15:30 gives you a relaxed trip home.
