Izuminuma Park Water Play Area
About this spot
The Izuminuma Park Water Play Area is a free water play spot in Ebetsu City. The opening period for 2026 has not been announced yet, but in most years the water is filled to match the summer holidays. The great appeal is that the water is shallow, so even children who have only just started walking can dip their feet in and play. As the park sits in a residential district, it is easy to keep everyone in sight, and adults can spend the time calmly watching over the children from the shade of the trees. Use is free, so you can let them play as long as they like without watching the clock, which families really appreciate. Hokkaido summer days are long, so it stays bright enough to keep playing into the evening.
Season & hours
Name: 泉の沼公園 水遊び場
Date & time: 開設期間は未発表 (例年は夏休み期間)
Venue: 江別市・泉の沼公園
Tips
Opening conditions change from year to year, so check this year's dates through the Ebetsu City information before you set out. Changing places are limited, so putting swimsuits on under their clothes makes getting ready on site much easier. Shade comes mainly from under the trees, so on strong sunny days a pop-up tent or a picnic sheet makes resting easier. The wind can pick up in the evening and chill the body, so bringing an extra layer is reassuring.
Best time to visit
Arriving at 13:30 gives you about three hours, right through to the evening when the sunlight softens.
