The city's central library, located in Hanakawa, Ishikari City. The children's section is clearly organised, and children can roam the shelves at their own pace, from picture books to illustrated guides. Ishikari is a salmon town facing the Sea of Japan, and the local history shelves carry books on the sea, the rivers and the pioneering settlers. The park you head to in the afternoon is within walking distance, so you can take your time choosing books in the morning and slip straight into the flow of the day. The building is quiet and air-conditioned, making it just the right place to spend a morning of strong sunshine.

石狩ふれあいの杜公園徒渉池は、石狩市花川にある無料の水遊びスポットです。2026年は6月15日(月)から9月15日(火)まで、10:00〜16:00に利用でき、市内小学校の夏休み期間は9:00〜18:00に延長されます。噴水と流れのある浅い徒渉池なので、水をかぶるのが好きな子も、静かに足をひたしたい子も、それぞれの遊び方ができます。公園には大型のネット複合遊具や芝生広場、花壇があり、水に飽きても遊びが途切れないのが大きな魅力。トイレと駐車場がそろっているので、小さな子連れでも一日の計画が立てやすい場所です。花壇の花を眺めながら木陰で休めるので、大人にとっても居心地のよい公園です。

Tips

毎週木曜は清掃のため運転休止となるので、出かける曜日を必ず確認してください。夏休み期間かどうかで利用時間が変わるため、石狩市の案内で当日の時間帯を確かめておくと確実です。海が近く風の強い日は体感温度が下がるので、羽織ものとすぐ着られる着替えを用意しましょう。16:00に終了する期間は、15時半ごろから片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。

Tips

Check opening hours and closed days on the official website in advance. It is a place to keep quiet in, so agreeing on that with small children beforehand keeps the visit calm. Story-reading and other events are held on some days, so looking at the schedule in advance adds to the fun. There is a car park, making it an easy stop by car.
