Tsutsujigaoka Park Water Play Area
About this spot
The water play area at Tsutsujigaoka Park is a free water-play spot in Kitahiroshima City. The opening period for 2026 has not been announced, but in most years the water runs in time for the summer holidays. Besides the water facility where children can play in the water, the park has tennis courts and play equipment for children, which is its distinctive feature: children who tire of the water head for the equipment, adults who want to move their bodies take the courts, and each member of the family can spend the day their own way. It sits inside a residential area, so it is easy to keep an eye on everyone and adults can watch over calmly from the shade of the trees, another reassuring point. It is free to use, so you can let the children play as long as they like without worrying about the time. In Hokkaido's long summer days it stays bright even into the evening, so the play can go on.
Season & hours
Name: つつじヶ丘公園 水遊び場
Date & time: 開設期間は未発表 (例年は夏休み期間)
Venue: 北広島市・つつじヶ丘公園
Tips
Whether it is open changes from year to year, so check this year's period in Kitahiroshima City's guidance before setting out. Using the tennis courts may require an application, so check in advance for the day you want to use them. Places to change are limited, so putting swimsuits on under clothes makes getting ready on site much easier. The wind can pick up in the evening and chill you, so taking one light layer along is reassuring.
Best time to visit
Arrive at 14:20 and you get about 2 hours 10 minutes, playing until the evening when the sun softens
