About this spot

This is the municipal library in central Otofuke Town (音更町). The children's book section is well stocked, and there is even space to sit on the floor and open a picture book. The air-conditioned interior is just the right environment for resting before water play. The local-materials shelves hold books on the history of Otofuke Town and Tokachi (十勝), so there are discoveries for adults too. Even a short stretch of quietly choosing a book makes a good mental reset for children. From here, Kibogaoka Park (希望が丘公園) is only a short drive away.

Tips

Check closed days and opening hours before you set out. The interior is a place to be quiet, so making an agreement with small children beforehand is reassuring. Leave borrowed books in the car before heading to the park so they do not get wet. Bringing a tote bag makes carrying them easier.
