About this spot

This is the roadside station that represents Otofuke Town (音更町), combining a farm stand stocked with Tokachi (十勝) produce and dairy with a dining area. True to a crop-farming region, seasonal vegetables such as potatoes, beans and corn are piled high, and simply walking through conveys the richness of Tokachi. The dining area makes it easy for each family member to find something they like, and even families with small children can eat calmly. Because it is indoors, waiting out the midday hours when the sun is strongest here is the smart way to proceed. Do not forget to buy the drinks and snacks you will need for afternoon water play.

希望が丘公園噴水(水遊び)は、音更町の希望が丘公園にある無料の水遊び場です。主役は大きな噴水で、勢いよく吹き上がる水を追いかけたり、その下をくぐったりと、子どもたちは自分なりの遊び方をすぐに見つけます。例年の期間は6月1日(月)から9月30日(水)、時間は10:00から18:00で、音更町の案内では「6月上旬〜9月下旬」と紹介されています。住宅地の中にある公園なので、地元の家族連れが多く、のんびりとした雰囲気の中で過ごせます。無料で利用できるうえ、深いプールではないため、小さな子でも保護者が見守りながら安心して遊ばせられます。芝生にシートを広げて、遊ぶ子どもを眺めながら夕方までゆっくりするのがこの公園の楽しみ方です。

Tips

噴水の稼働状況は天候や気温に左右されるため、出かける前に音更町の案内で当日の状況を確認してください(出典: https://www.town.otofuke.hokkaido.jp/kurashi/toshi/koen/mizuasobi.html)。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると便利です。日陰は先に埋まりやすいため、到着したらまず木陰の場所を確保しましょう。18時で終了するので、着替えと片づけの時間を見込んで動くと余裕が生まれます。

Tips

The dining area gets crowded around noon, so starting your meal in the 11 o'clock hour makes it easier to find a seat. Fresh items at the farm stand are safer bought on the way home, but choosing shelf-stable processed goods first spreads out the load. The parking lot is large and laid out so it is relatively easy to park even during long holidays. Keep a bag in the car so wet items can be packed separately.
