About this spot

This is a cherry-tree avenue that runs straight and long beside the Shinkawa River. In spring it is known as a blossom-viewing spot, but in summer the leaves fill in completely and it becomes a green tunnel arching over the path. The shade never breaks, which makes it easy to walk even on strong sunny days, and that is the particular gift of this season. Walking while watching the river flow naturally builds anticipation for the waterway you will play in later. Because local people use it for walks and jogging as part of daily life, time passes here in a quiet way that tourist sites never offer.

新川見はるかす緑地修景水路は、札幌市北区の新川見はるかす緑地にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は7月5日(日)から8月23日(日)まで、9:00〜16:00に開放されます。浅い修景水路なので水深を心配せずに済み、歩き始めたばかりの子でも足をひたすところから遊べます。まっすぐ細長く伸びる形なので、流れに沿って歩きながら遊べるのがプールとは違う面白さです。近所の子どもたちが中心の落ち着いた場所で、行列や待ち時間とは無縁なのも良いところ。見はるかすという名前のとおり視界が開けていて、開放感のある空の下で過ごせます。

Tips

気象状況により期間や開放が変動することがあるため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してください。日陰が少ないので、帽子と日よけ、多めの飲み物を用意しましょう。足元を切らないよう水遊び用サンダルを履かせてください。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると便利です。16:00に終了するため、15時半には片づけを始めましょう。

Tips

Cyclists and joggers also use the avenue, so hold small children by the hand as you walk. Check in advance where the restrooms are in the nearby parks for peace of mind. There is plenty of shade, but be sure to bring drinks. Decide how far to walk based on your own stamina and do not push it.
