Sea Fountain

About this spot

A large fountain in Moerenuma Park that runs at set times through the summer. The water does not simply rise; it changes height and shape to form a single flowing sequence, so you can watch from start to finish without losing interest. The whole park was created from a concept by the sculptor Isamu Noguchi, and you can sense that the fountain too was designed as part of the landscape. It is surrounded by wide lawns, so you can spread a picnic sheet in the shade, eat lunch, and wait in a relaxed way for the next run. Making time to simply watch water before the afternoon's water play helps little ones get ready.

雁穂公園水遊び場は、札幌市東区の雁穂公園に夏だけ現れる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は7月3日(金)から8月23日(日)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いため、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べます。プールのような入れ替えや順番待ちがなく、遊びたいときに入り、疲れたら木陰で休むという自由なリズムで過ごせるのが公園の水遊び場のよさです。午前にモエレ沼公園で噴水を見てきた子は、自分から水に入っていくことが多く、水が苦手な子にもやさしい流れになります。夕方に上がって、そのまま歩いて帰れる距離感も家族連れにはうれしいところです。

Tips

開放は10:00〜16:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになる日があるため、出発前に札幌市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室はないので、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる用意をしておくと安心です。札幌の夏は日が陰ると急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織る一枚を必ず持っていきましょう。日陰が限られるため、レジャーシートと帽子があると休憩が楽になります。

Tips

The run times are fixed, so check them when you arrive and you will not miss it. There is little shade around the fountain, so hats and drinks are essential. The park is extremely large, so if you come by car, choose the parking lot closest to the fountain to cut down on walking. Spray can carry on the wind, so leave cameras and bags a little way off.
