The Bansei Park Water Play Area is a shallow water play spot that appears only in summer at Bansei Park (万生公園) in Shiroishi Ward, Sapporo. In 2026 it is open from Friday, July 10 to Monday, August 31, from 10:00 to 16:30, and admission is free. What makes this park good is that a combination play structure sits right beside the water play area. When they get cold, kids can climb the structure to warm back up; when they work up a sweat, they return to the water. That back-and-forth means children who love water and those who are less keen can play together in the same place. The water is shallow, so even toddlers who have just started walking can stand on their own feet, which is reassuring. Since neighborhood children gather here, you will often see kids strike up a game with someone they met that very day.
