About this spot

An aquarium inside the shopping complex in Shin-Sapporo. It is not large, but in return you stand close to each tank, and the good part is that children can see the fish properly even at their own height. From fish that live in northern seas to the vividly colored fish of southern waters, you can take in a wide range in a short time. Being indoors, it is not at the mercy of the weather, and it lasts just long enough to settle everyone down before the afternoon in the water. The flow from a time of watching fish to a time of getting into the water themselves lifts younger children's spirits most of all.

科学館公園水遊び場は、札幌市厚別区の科学館公園に夏だけ現れる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで、9:30〜16:30に開放され、利用は無料です。札幌市青少年科学館とサンピアザ水族館に隣接しているので、屋内施設と水遊びを歩いて行き来できるのがこの公園ならではの強み。雨が降っても屋内に逃げられますし、子どもが水に飽きても次の行き先がすぐそこにあります。水深が浅いため、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べるのも安心なところです。新さっぽろの駅前という便利な場所にありながら、こんなに気軽に水遊びができるのは厚別区の恵まれた点です。

Tips

開放は9:30〜16:30です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになる日があるため、出発前に札幌市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室はないので、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる用意をしておきましょう。札幌の夏は日が陰ると急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織る一枚が必要です。人通りの多い場所なので、荷物から目を離さないように気をつけてください。

Tips

Some feedings and talks are held at fixed times, so looking over the day's schedule as you enter keeps you from missing the highlights. The halls are dark, so walk hand in hand with small children. It is best to leave your water play gear in the car or a locker and enter unburdened.
