A facility inside Toyohira Park (豊平公園) that combines greenhouses with gardening information. Step into the indoor greenhouse and you are enveloped in a deep green quite unlike outside, so you can stroll at your own pace out of the summer sun. The plants have name tags, so asking your children "what kind of tree is this?" as you go turns an ordinary walk into a time of observation. The park itself has plenty of trees too, and simply doing a loop of the grounds after leaving the facility makes for a pleasant walk. Starting a water play day in a quiet place makes the contrast with the lively afternoon all the more enjoyable.

菊水上町わらしこ公園水遊び池は、札幌市白石区の菊水上町わらしこ公園に夏だけ現れる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は7月10日(金)から8月31日(月)まで、9:00〜17:00に開放され、利用は無料です。朝から夕方まで長く開いているので、午前だけ、午後だけといった家族の予定に合わせた使い方ができます。水深が浅いため、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べるのが安心なところ。入れ替えや順番待ちがなく、遊びたいときに入って疲れたら木陰で休むという自由なリズムで過ごせます。近所の子どもたちが集まる住宅街の公園ならではの、肩の力の抜けた時間が流れています。

Tips

開放は9:00〜17:00ですが、天候や清掃の都合で変わることがあるため、出発前に札幌市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室はないので、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる用意をしておきましょう。札幌の夏は日が陰ると急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織る一枚が必要です。住宅街の中の公園なので、行き帰りの道では車に十分注意してください。

Tips

Check the opening hours and closed days in advance. Humidity is high inside the greenhouse, so clothing that is not too heavily layered is more comfortable. The layout is easy to enter with a stroller, but some passages narrow, so take care when it is crowded. Using the restrooms before heading to Sapporo Factory makes the trip easier.
